Upper |
| The upper is constructed from one piece of 2.4 2.6mm thick, full grain (non-corrected) leather specially tanned and treated to be water repellent (hydrophobic) yet breathable. By constructing the upper from a single piece of leather, vertical stability is maximized (won't flop over or droop) and seams are minimized. Ventilation ports located around the top circumference of the upper as part of the Climate System, allow maximum vapor ventilation reducing drying time. |
Lining |
| The FirePro incorporates a CROSSTECH® bootie constructed with Cambrelle® lining fabric that completely surrounds the foot. CROSSTECH® footwear fabric provides the best liquid penetration resistance to blood, body fluids and common chemicals as well as performance unmatched by any other waterproof and breathable barrier product. A stitched in 3mm KEVLAR® felt lining provides superior thermal protection and cut resistance. |
Pull-On Loops |
| Widest in the industry (1-7/8") for long life and durability. Attached via a double stitch circular pattern. |
Safety Toe |
| Ergonomic, fully coated steel toe resistant to over 200 Joules. Rubber transition edge to prevent damage to the CROSSTECH® bootie and maximize comfort. |
Toe-cap |
| 2mm thick vulcanized rubber toe cap for superior abrasion resistance and overall toe area longevity. >
|
Upper Stitching |
| All seams are double or triple (high stress areas) lock stitched, 10 - 16 stitches per inch along every body seem using Nomex® Meta-Aramid Filament, water repellant, 220dtex, black thread. |
Sole Adhesion |
| High temperature adhesive construction. |
Sole |
| Self-cleaning, non-marking Nitrile rubber sole with aggressive lug design and integral stainless steel plate stabilized by polyurethane fill. The Nitrile compound assures resistance to heat, oils and common chemical compounds. Parallel ladder grips and a straight breast heel design are incorporated for ladder safety. Slip resistant in lateral and lengthwise directions. |
Sole Cavity Filler |
| Urethane pour for superior thermal insulation and shock absorption. |
Midsole |
| Electrically non-conductive rubber midsole provides insulation against 14,000 volts as tested per NFPA 1971 Standard on Protective Ensemble for Structural Fire Fighting, 2000 Edition requirements. |
Insole |
| Anatomically designed, removable contoured foot bed. Copper-ionic fiber protection for bacterial resistance. Built in circulation channels, machine washable in cool water. |
Ladder Shank |
| Triple ridged, steel shank, fully embedded within the midsole for protection. |
Reflective Stripe |
| Reflective safety stripe stitched to the outside of each boot for high visibility and identification. |
Certification |
| NFPA 1971, Standard on Protective Ensemble for Structural Fire Fighting, 2000 Edition. |
